The article mainly focuses on the difference in the design and usability of the products. There are numerous other factors that go into the success of a Web service or product. There are also wildly successful products with terrible design, but in general I tend to agree with the sentiment of this article. In this case, Tumblr is the Mercedes and Posterous is the Pontiac.
